ETS News… February 2004: Previous months News click here:
Parkway Wesleyan Church: Special thanks to Mr. Jan Jones and Al Lambert for giving up a Saturday morning to come help our staff paint and build shelves. (Click here to see pictures.)
We now have copies of The Passion of the Christ by John Piper. This book gives fifty reasons why Jesus came to die. It is a valuable resource available to individuals and churches for outreach purposes. This is a good follow- up for questions that the Mel Gibson movie will generate. The book lists at $7.99, our price $4.50
Our Volunteer of the Month: Meet Elwood Shrader. At ETS, we call him, the Autoharp Doctor. Elwood volunteers several hours a week to service and tune the 20 autoharps that we currently have in stock. Elwood enjoys playing the autoharp at nursing homes and electronically tunes each machine. He is always so delighted when he has an instrument ready to go out the door. He has cleaned and polished it, tuned it, put in a tuning hammer and picks and even tried to find a case for it. We always look forward to seeing Elwood as he generates beautiful music as he works! Look who came by: ETS was recently visited by Stephen and Ilenna Lindahl. Stephen is the new rector of the Bolivian Evangelical University in Santa Cruz. The university was started 22 years ago by a World Gospel Missionary, Dr. Meredythe Scheflen, and graduated 223 new professionals this year. We look forward to working together with this fine Christian university. (Click here for picture.)
Container Loading Time: We always look forward to sending out clothing containers to Tajikistan. Our volunteers have been so busy boxing clothing that our gym is full. Clothing containers always go quickly as the boxes are uniform in size and easy to pack. Special thanks to all our volunteers for making the task go quickly. (Click here to see more pictures.)
New Home for Our Band Instruments; Due to increased volume in our medical supplies and equipment we have moved all our band equipment to new shelves in the upstairs hallway. Our Sousaphone curtain makes quite an interesting sight from the street. (Click here for more pictures.)
